Digswell Hill Climb and Speed Judging Competition

It was a windy, sunny autumn day for the annual hill climb competition. 11 riders came out to face the timekeepers 10 North Roaders and 1 guest rider. After a discussion about where exactly the start and finish lines were the first rider set off at 10:31; Barbara Kubis riding her first North Road Hill Climb.

There were lots of cyclists congregating at the top of the hill, including the Bonfields, to congratulate the finishers. Jamie Anderson was the winner with an amazing time of 2:51. 

After the Hill Climb it was back to the Burnham Green Village Hall for coffee, cake and Emma's famous toasties. Many thanks to Emma for the lovely cakes and the toasties. The drinks were a bit late due to the fact that the coffee and tea were in Graham and Debbie's car and they were clearing up the signs from the Hill Climb before going to the hall.

Once everyone had had their fill of cakes and toasties it was time for the speed judging competition. This was supposed to be a fun event but one North Roader took it too seriously. This unnamed North Roader had a metronome app going on their phone and was told to stop it before setting off. 

 The winner of the speed judging was Andy Lancaster with a difference of 2 seconds and last was John Saysell with a difference of 1 minute and 31 seconds.
