Big Cow Duathlon, Milton Keynes Bowl - Saturday 20th February 2010
4.5k run/8.25 mile bike/4.2k run
Four club members, Richard Somerset, Steve James McDowall and Dave Kiely took part in the annual suffer-fest that is the Big Cow sprint duathlon at Milton Keynes Bowl. The race consisted of a 4.5k run around the lake adjacent to the Bowl, then 12 laps of the perimeter road (reduced to 8,25 miles due to flooding on part of the course) and a slightly shorter second run of 4.2k around the lake to finish.
Richard managed to beat the hour and was only 11 minutes behind the winner! Dave was next home his time compromised by a shoe mix up at the second transition, John was a minute further behind and Steve gave up after the bike, his legs not coping well with the run.
