Welwyn Track League - Fri 20th June 08

Four members of the North Road took part in the Welwyn Track League at Gosling Stadium, Welwyn Garden City on Friday 20th June: Warren Cobb, Richard Somerset, Nick Latimer and Ian Coles, all competing in the B group races.
In the opening 10 lap scratch for Ian Coles finished 5th.
The next event was the 10 lap block handicap. even number riders starting in the home straught, odd in the back straight. The odds couldn't get organised and disintegrated at half distance allowing the evens to contest the race and in the sprint Richard finished 7th.
In the Devil Richard, Nick and Ian were very active. Richard scored three second places and was the best North Roader in fourth place overall, his first league points of 2008.
The final event was the 10 mile. Warren, Ian and Richard couldn,t handle the pace and pulled out whilst Nick, riding his last event before moving away to Sheffield rode an excellent race and finished 8th, in amongst the A group riders.
