Simon Best and Ian Coles took part in a rain interupted evening on the 15th of May with only the 10 lap scratch being held before rain stopped play. Ian came in 3rd with Simon close behind in 5th place.
On the 22nd of May for week 5 of the track league Simon and Ian were joined by Warren Cobb which enabled a bit of team tactics to be used. In the 10 lap scratch Warren showed good form and kept the pace at a good level for the first few laps, there was then a brief lull in the racing before Simon got to the front with 3 to go and gave a Ian a fantastically fast lead out before pulling up with a lap to go, Ian then had a full lap at the front in which he managed to get 2nd place in the sprint after a photo-finish. Ian also placed 3rd in the devil. After such a busy evening or racing it was not surprising that none of the North Road riders played much of a part in an extremely fast 10 mile, with Warren pulling out and Ian following suit with 8 laps to go in which the speed was averaging nearly 30mph.
