Another hot evening but the level of participation was not diminished with the numbers boosted by the riders from the Hoddesdon Tri Club. An excellent ride from Lucy Charles-Barclay in 23.20 was probably a course record for lady competitors. Andy Hastings was a clear winner overall in 19.51. This was an enjoyable evening for riders and helpers apart from one guest who forgot to bear left at White Stubbs Lane for Bayford. After my rest from timekeeping duties it was good to be back in the chair - four events to the end of the series where it has been a privilege to hold the watches. Times may have pleased some riders but also brought disappointment to others. Watches reveal the truth - timekeepers rarely make mistakes but are not infallible.
