Brickendon Time Trial League Week 19 - Tuesday 26th Aug 2008

League Points, League TimesAnalysis

Life is definitely sweet for Dave Candy after he scooped North Road Cycling Club’s 2008 Ken Davis Salver with a second place finish in the final race. The last event of the 19-race competition at Brickendon Green drew 20 club riders and eight guests. It was David Vaughan, riding his first Ken Davis event, who took the final 30 points on offer, crossing the finishing line in 22 minutes 30 seconds. Dave finished seven seconds behind David to take the 27 points, easily enough to retain the title he won last year. The overall scores, calculated by adding together the competitor’s 10 best rides, put Dave on 300 points. Simon Best took the Salver runners up spot followed by Tony May. A good ride by Laurence Pidcock on the day ensured he finished in a time of 22:43, taking third spot. There were personal bests for Marcus Machell and Steve Blackwell, with Jonathan Appleby and Steve Watts riding their best times of the year.
