Scene from the Grass Verge

A balmy evening with the riders forming an orderly queue to face the timekeeper plus Gwyn holding the riders on the chalk starting line was a good omen for some quick times. Nick Candy upheld the Club's honour by one second from Oscar Nilssen-Julien, the junior who finished second at the weekend in the Memorial 25. There were excellent rides from junior Joe Kiely 21.18 and lady Nuala Robinson 25.06.

Nuala has her sights on going below 25 minutes in the future. There were some busy seconds for the timekeeper when eight riders finished in just over 30 seconds of each other followed by a later group of five in another 30 seconds. It was another successful evening with plenty of helpers to share the work load behind the scenes.

In conclusion I am happy to report that Tim Brown is now at home, having had the left arm reset with the prospect of an operation to make good the right arm.
