Brickendon Time Trial League Week 14 - Tuesday 24th July

Dave Candy’s total domination of North Road Cycling Club’s Ken Davis Salver finally came to an end in Round 14 as Daren Rochford’s brilliant performance ended his long unbeaten record. Daren has been Dave’s nearest challenger all summer and produced his best time of the year (22:30) to beat the reigning champion by a slim margin of just two seconds. However, after amassing 390 points from victories in all 13 of the competition’s previous events, Dave is still assured of retaining his coveted title. Third placed rider Simon Best also rode his fastest time of the year, crossing the finish line in 23:11 to beat Trevor Burke by seven seconds. Further down the field, Tony Shoesmith (25:04) knocked 21 seconds off his personal best and Jennifer Hill produced a creditable time in her first outing for the club.
