nature, after a good Samaritan act ruined his victory chances in the penultimate round of North Road CC’s Ken Davis Salver. During the race a minor car accident prompted several riders to be delayed, including leader Dave who was delayed for about three minutes. Once he made sure the driver was uninjured, the champion elect jumped back on the saddle, but could only finish ninth. This unexpected incident, allied to the absence of Dave’s nearest challenger Daren Rochford, cleared the path for Simon Best to claim victory. He crossed the line 37 seconds ahead of Trevor Burke, who pipped Tony May to second position by just three seconds. Tony Shoesmith gained his best ever time and placing, taking six seconds off his personal best, as he shared fourth with Nick Ison. The overall winner was Arctic Shorter Rochford rider Darren Treadway with a time of 22:34.
