Mike Bridge caused a major shock to beat Dave Candy and take the title of leading North Roader as the club hosted its Memorial Trophy Sporting 25-mile Time Trial (incorporated the first Club 25). The event – the sixth stage of the North London Millennium Trophy – featured a field of 37 competitors, including 13 from the host club and Mike took the starring role by securing a memorable fourth place finish. He finished 19 seconds ahead of Ken Davis Salver leader Dave, who was sixth overall, and the second veteran past the time keeper. Tony May was the North Road handicap winner in the club’s 25 event. Overall victory went to Richard O’Rourke (Flitch Fitness) in a new course record time of 55:35. Gemma Sperrin finished fourth in the 13 mile event for Ladies and Juveniles event – one lap with a time of 40:50.
