Hereford Wheelers Leominster 25m TT(K44/25) – Sunday 26 April 2015

Having ridden a 10 the day before I was apprehensive about riding this event. I was back in my home town, Hereford and my visit coincided with Hereford Wheelers first 25 of the season. I had my eye on this event, run on the Leominster course, as I rode it last year and finished 1 second over the hour.

I arrived at the start, met with grey skies, drizzle and a cool Northerly breeze – lovely. The drizzle dried and the sun came out but the nagging wind strengthened.

I set off 2 minutes behind local rider Steve King and due to the nature of this course, had several opportunities to measure my progress against his. At the final turn with 6 miles of head-wind to the finish I estimated that he was slightly ahead of me. I pushed as hard as I could for this return leg and concentrated on staying as aero as possible. I finished in a time of 58:52 and was pleased to have finished in first place with a new PB for this course.
