The North Road Cycling Club has a number of trophies that are awarded each year
The Twenty-four Hours Cup
The twenty-four hours challenge cup awarded to the competitor, whether a member of the North Road Cycling Club or not, who shall accomplish the greatest distance in the Club twenty -four hours open time trial.
50 Mile Handicap Cup
A Silver Challenge Cup awarded to the member with the the best average handicap time who finishes all the fifty miles Club events. Presented by the late A.J. Begbie
Centenary Ladies' 25 Cup
A silver cup awarded to the fastest female in a 25 mile time trial
Road Race Trophy / Cyclo-cross Trophy
Silver Trophy that was the Road Race Trophy and is now the Cyclo- Cross Trophy.
Hadley Highstone Memorial
This is a silver trophy that is dedicated to those members who were lost in the two World Wars.
H.H. England Vase Junior Championship Cup
A Silver Challenge Cup awarded to a Junior Member with the best aggregate of three rides in Club twenty-five miles events.
Presented by the late H.H. England, President of the Club, 1945-1961
Ken Davis Salver
A silver salver awarded to the Brickendon 10 open winner
Kenneth Lush Memorial Road Race Trophy
This is a silver trophy that originally was the A.C. Swan Memorial Trophy 1975. it has been reused as The Kenneth Lush Memorial Road Race Trophy
Ladies' 10 Mile Trophy/ R.A.C. Risley Memorial Trophy
This trophy is awarded to the lady (female) with the fastest time in an open 10 mile time trial
Marsh '24' Trophy Best North Roader
A Silver Rose Bowl awarded to the member who shall accomplish the greatest distance during twenty-four hours in open competition in the name of the Club between 1 March and 31 October in any year.
Presented by the widow of the late A.E. March and mother of the late E.B and A.B. Marsh who were all members of the Club.
Memorial Trophy
Competing for the North Road Memorial Trophy, a perpetual Cup in memory of those Club members who fell in the wars of 1914-1918 and 1939-1945
Peggy and Geoffrey Bruton Trophy
This is the female classification trophy of the Brickendon 10
Povey Veterans Shield
Awarded to a member over fifty years of age who shall accomplish the most meritorious cycling performance.
A wooden shield with individual silver plates presented by E.C. Povey.
R.F. Mynott Memorial Cup
The most meritorious long distance ride
The Thistle Hardriders 'Twenty-Five' Trophy
A silver Challenge Cup awarded to the winner of the Open Twenty-five Miles Hardriders Scratch Time Trial.
Presented by the members of the former Thistle Cycling Club.
The Tony King Trophy
The A.J. King Memorial Trophy was purchased with donations made by Bowaters, business colleagues and Club Members in memory of the late 'Tony' King and is awarded in recognition of services given by a member to the club.
Club Runs
Taking up or returning to cycling?
Join us on a Sunday club run.
We meet from 9:20am on Sunday mornings at Highway Cycles, Hartham Lane, Hertford SG14 1QN, by the coffee kiosk. Rides get underway from 9.40am, and are usually between 20 and 40 miles to a cafe and back.
