Teenage prodigy Leon Atkins of 258 Protege blasted round the Hardriders in a blistering time of 56:41, just 5 seconds short of the course record set by Wouter Sybrandy in 2012 and faster than Chris Boardman who was first to go under the hour in 1991.

Fifteen North Road entrants, fast times and intense competition on a day of a cold wind and clouds.
Last year's winners did it again: Rob Walker (WardPerformanceUK) smashed his own course record and Lauren Creamer came in only just outside the hour to take the Ladies prize.
Bryan Holland, on a road bike, was fastest North Roader in 1:05:03 with John Saysell, John McDowell and Brian Evans all close behind, while the hotly tipped Chris Symonds suffered a puncture after one lap.

A gentle breeze on a cloudy day with sunny intervals led to impressive times.
Seven seconds under the hour and in a commendable 10th place in a strong field, Jobe Usher ushered nine North Roaders round the course. Rob Walker (Ward WheelZ) walked home over a minute ahead of second place, while Lauren Creamer (Velo Fixers) absolutely caned the ladies record by a second, finishing seventh overall.
A special mention for the evergreen Brenda Bozwood Davies (Team Trident) showing us all up.
