From the Timekeeper: This was not an evening to be sitting by the roadside as it was cold, windy and gloomy to see how the riders coped without modern aids such as tri-bars, disc wheels and others - this was the final event of the 2017 series when riders are expected to revert to past conditions. I was not able to check the machines but all NRers appeared to enter into the spirit of the evening.

Some twenty hardy souls sped round the course at speeds ranging from 25.27 mph to 16.81 mph although the tandem pair averaged 27.95 mph to reach their target of below 20 minutes. Subject to confirmation Nick Candy appears to have secured the Ken Davis Silver Salver to put his name alongside that of his father, who rode a few events of this year's series.

Entries have varied from just over 30 to a mere 6 when the weather has been unkind.

Spare some words of gratitude to all those who have helped to run the events as they turn out despite the weather conditions. There are always some who wish to ride however dire the conditions. Road works have played havoc with the course this season but by some judicious planning the events have gone ahead on a shortened course from time to time.
