Daybreak was heralded by rain and more rain so not many riders for the event and that they would get soaked was the outlook. Two hardy members rode and they got damp but not soaked despite some large stretches of water on the circuit. There was another event on in Yorkshire and I was informed that some North Roaders were up there and judging by the TV coverage they would have got soaked. The village hall at Brickendon provided the excuse for a sociable meeting for Nikki (cakes were very good), Andy, June, Eric P. Eric J. Ivana, Graham, Jim, James , John and others whose names I failed to write in my notebook and one small dog who I have met several times in a bike shop. There was some blue sky later in the day but I decided to give cycling a miss due to the heavy rain in the late afternoon.
