Crest Road Race - Sun 7th March 10

Thu 08 Apr 2010

Crest Road Race (ERRL), Quendon, Essex 70 miles, 2/3/4 cat - Sunday 7th March 2010

= 15th place

A tough early season road race in bright, but freezing cold weather (minus 3 degrees at the start) over 9 laps of a testing circuit.

The two-part hill up to the finish line was the scene of quite a few attacks causing a whittling down of the main bunch to about 35 riders at the finish.

A break of two slipped away on the penultimate lap and stayed away.

Managed to pick up a single point in the bunch sprint as the speed went ballistic the last time up the climb. Frank Rawlins also rode and finished safely in the bunch.

Matt Cowan 15th
Frank Rawlins 31st
