Hog Hill ERV Winter Series Round 6 - Saturday 29th January 2011
Newly demoted to 3rd cat after a year largely without racing, I re-entered the fray at Hog Hill on a bitterly cold but wind free day.. The pace was notably slower than the 2nd cat crits of last year, but a couple of spirited attacks by the deserving eventual winner split the bunch and saw me having to chase back on to the lead group on both occasions. I was placed in the last lap, but boxed in the final climb finishing a satisfactory 8th in the sprint, with the thought that a little more race- craft could have gifted me a better placing. It was, however, great to back in the mix!
