Eastern Cyclo Cross League 7 (Grays)- Sun 24th Oct 2010

I was the only North Roader at round seven of the Eastern Cyclo-Cross League run by the Ford CC at Davy Downs park. Heavy rain ensured more testing conditions and combined with a twisty cornering circuit, lead to some dramatic 'oh-ah' moments whilst competing.  After a good showing in my last race I was hopeful of a strong result.  Sadly, this slight inflation of ones 'hope pea' was punctured by a rider falling in front of me during the hurly-burly of the mass start costing me a hat-full of places early on, and a Big Bird comic bike re-mount later in the race also cost valuable position.  Despite a big effort I eventually crossed the line in a disappointing 27th place out of 65 starters
