Eastern CX League Round 4 - Hillyfields

Flat fast bits, sections of technical single track and some climbing ensure a bit of everything.

Tim Brown rode the Vets +50 and reported that he felt some return to fitness although a couple of wash outs on the same corner cost valuable time.  A fine 18th place finish for Tim out of 58 starters.

Both John McDowall and Bryan Holland lined up for their second race of the weekend.  They where joined by Simon best riding his MTB.  A double mechanical in three minutes of riding ended John’s involvement in the race within half-a-lap for a disappointing DNF.  Bryan was perhaps ten per cent down on full gas after the race the day before. An attempt to ride through the most substantial tree on the course most decisively went the tree’s way ensuring a heavy fall that checked progress as well.    Simon found the course ‘tough going’ but worked up a healthy sweat.  Bryan finished in 22nd and Simon 65th with 76 starters.
