East London Velo Winter Series Race 7

Three NRCC riders were on the start line at a wet and windy Hogg Hill, Dave Parry in his 1st ever race joined by evergreen John Rumbold and young buck Hugo Evans. Unfortunately Dave suffered a puncture early on ending his foray into crit racing prematurely.meanwhile the other two settled in to the race staying out of the wind in the bunch.

Two Thirds in, John feeling under the weather pulled out leaving Hugo our sole rider in a race where the field were suffering in the difficult conditions. At 3 laps to go there were only a dozen riders in contention with a lone rider away and no one strong enough to bridge across. It came to a sprint for placings with Hugo finishing 7th to gain his first points of the season.
