An early start in surprisingly cool conditions for this year’s Finsbury Park 50 event, doubling as an ECCA BAR qualifier.

The Wind was light to start but built through the event, from the NW.

My Notable events of the day; a near miss with an arctic truck at the first roundabout of the day, due entirely to my own poor judgment in closing speed and impact avoided through considerate truck driving, shortly followed by  loss of my only water bottle after hitting a pothole on the ‘water tower’ descent, leaving the remaining 40 miles of my ride fluid free.

I finished in 9^th place, with a time of 1:56:28 (course PB).

The winner, Paul Gamlin riding for Northover Vets completed the distance in 1:47:36
