62 riders were on the start line for Hugo Evans's first ever visit
to the Hillingdon Cycle Circuit,on a breezy but thankfully dry day all
the
riders stayed together as the conditions deterred any serious attacks.
After 45 minutes or so the stronger riders started to show at the front.
As
various riders failed to get away Hugo tried his luck with about 6 laps
to go, his attempt for glory failed as the bunch came together for the
sprint.
With the more attacking riders recovering from
their efforts it was left to the more canny [experienced] riders to go
for the win on the final lap,
Hugo finished in 20th place
behind the main protagonists but happy with his efforts after gaining
valuable experience for the future.
