Eagle Road Race - 3/4 cat, Ugley Essex, 60 miles - Sunday 24th may 2009

Three North Roaders, Tristan Emptage, Jamie Anderson and Jeff Robinson took part in the Eagle RR event near Ugly, Essex in beautiful sunny conditions.
Early attacks by all three riders including a lone attack by Tristan during the 2nd lap came to nothing and with the miles ticking away it soon looked like a bunch sprint would be the only way to settle the race.
Coming into the last three miles the Eagle Road Club soon got organised and began to look like the well drilled Columbia Highroad Team preparing their man for the sprint and as the finish neared one by one the Eagle team peeled off to leave James Sale catapulted to the line for a great win.
Tristan Emptage came in a fine third with Jamie Anderson hot on his heels with 5th. Jeff Robinson completed a strong first 60mile race to follow in the remaining bunch.
Unfortunately the result wasn't to stand as Tristan was relegated to 12th and Jeff Disqualified for the samoffence of crossing the broken hatched lines earlier in the race......The good news though is that Jamie Anderson gained his 2nd category licence...WELL DONE JAMIE,
