Essex Roads Spring Road Race - Sunday 1st April

Four North Roaders took part in the event: Trevor Burke, Jeff Robinson, Ian Coles and Tony May 

Trevor Burke finished 6th from a break of twelve that developed in a strong crosswind on the 2nd of 4 laps. He bridged across in a fine solo move which took almost half a lap to do. The break then brought back an attack by two riders from earlier on in the race to become a group of twelve that kept the bunch at about a minute gap for the rest of the race. 

Tony May and Ian tried to police any breaks that tried to bridge across the gap, hoping this would aid Trevor's chances for the win. Tony finished in the bunch with Ian a bit further back (39th) and everybody had sore legs as it was a really hard race! Jeff was a DNF after missing a sharp corner early in the race and being unable to rejoin the field.
