LVRC Cyclopark Crit 1 – Tuesday 18th June 2013

Neil Lewis competed in the 1^st of a 5 race series promoted by the LVRC at the new Cyclopark circuit at Gravesend in Kent.  Having sat comfortable in the bunch in the cat A,B,C,D (ages 40-59) race for 5 laps a tactical error when passing the cat E,F,G race (ages 60+) meant a hard chase to get back into the bunch. Upon regaining contact there was little time for recovery as the pace picked up with Neil and others not able to stay in contact this time. With approx. 35 mins of the 1hr + 5 laps of the race remaining Neil and Dave Churchill (Bigfoot CC) rode effectively a 2-up until David withdrew to leave Neil to continue alone.  Neil finished  21^th out of 22 finishers and 5^th in Cat B.
