LVRC Hog Hill - Sunday 12th May 2013

Sun 12 May 2013

More high octane LVRC crit racing at Hog Hill for the North Road racers.  In a repeat of last week the race was on from the gun with attacks off the start line by the Ciclos Unos riders.

Del Evans struggled early with the searing pace and was dropped with Eric Pailet succumbing soon after.  John McDowall was holding on despite not being at his the best,  but a falling rider on one of the sharp turns meant applying the anchors along with another group of riders and they where separated from the galloping bunch.  The gap seemed innocuous, but with a strong head wind and a disorganised group, the gap slowly opened.  John attempted to bridge  but despite some hard laps and getting within touching distance was unable to complete the junction and that effectively ended his, and any North Road involvement in the race.

Chris Glithero was racing in the over 60s race on the same circuit.  His race followed the same pattern as last week as he remained competitive during the main bulk of the race but was lacking in the final sprint to the finish line.
