LVRC Rapha Series Hog Hill 1 - Sat May 15th 10

Four North Road members rolled up to the start line in the first of a new series of Saturday races resplendent in large pink Rapha branded race numbers.
Del Evans and Nick Harris rode the C cat races, mainly on the lower circuit, with two climbs of the Hog Hill climb to finish off the race. Del suffered early and was soon out of contention while Nick gamely battled on but found his first exposure to the dreaded Hoggenberg a little tough and was distanced from what remained of the bunch at the finish,
Richard Somerset and John McDowall were in the A and B race and were involved in a feisty first twenty minutes or so. Just as the race was coming down to the crucial end game John punctured and had to retire and it was left to Richard to sprint at the end to gain a well deserved sixth place.
