North Road CC Hog Hill Circuits (report and full results)- Mon 4th June 2012

Cat 1/2/3s
A small but select field set off at speed spurred on by a big effort by Colin Bailey of the host club. A few laps in and three riders attacked with real purpose when Bailey was caught. A lead group featuring Rhys Howells, Nick Wilkinson and Dan Young then worked well together to gain over half a lap over the rest.

Near race end Wilkinson attacked on the Hogberg, but his advantage was soon negated and the three were together going into the bell lap. At the bottom of the circuit Young made a big effort, but again he was soon caught, and on the final climb, Howells jumped away from Wilkinson and Young.

The 'chasers' were animated throughout by Andy Nicols who made a large number of attempts to go free, and hopefully bridge the gap to the leader's, sadly for him he was unable to do so. Nicols reward was to be the best of the rest at the flag.

After a number of good moves five riders finally went clear and kept their lead throughout. From this lead group Jack Finch won the sprint to the line to win.
