At 13:00 there were still traffic lights on the course, causing Graham to speculate that the best course of action was to run the 10 and record times but not to award points. This was to make sure that nobody was tempted to jump the traffic lights as we did not have enough helpers to time the delay. Thankfully by 18:30 the traffic lights had been removed and the 10 could proceed as normal.
The evening was overcast with the threat of rain. 13 riders turned up to face the timekeepers, 8 North Roaders and 5 guests.
The conditions made for a fast night with 5 riders recording times of under 25 minutes. The fastest time was recorded by Alex Wiles with 21:22, closely followed by Sean O'Sullivan with 21:36. Next was Simon Broadway with a time of 22:23. The fastest North Roader was John Saysell with 24:06, being chased by Chris Symonds with 24:46.
Afterwards we retired to the village hall for coffee and fruit cake.
Timekeepers: Debbie Taylor (S) Graham Potter (F), Pusher Off: Nick Harris, Spotter: Chris Glithero
