Hugo faces an Ugley challenge
Hugo Evans lined up in only his second ever E/1/2 road race on the Rickling Green course near Ugley in Essex. In a full field where 50% of the riders were either Elites or 1st cats, Hugo was in for a fast race.
And so it turned out as the first hour was run off at 28 mph! The large contingent of sponsored and team riders made life very uncomfortable for the 2nd cat/club riders who were getting shelled as the race progressed.
As the finish line approached Hugo had an average race speed of 26.8 mph so was very pleased to finish strongly albeit at the back of the bunch in what was his fastest Road Race to date.
