Adam Stone second at Hog Hill - Sunday 30th Jan 2011

Mon 31 Jan 2011

SERRL Winter Series Round 7, Hog Hill, Sunday, 30 January 2011

With three keen Dulwich Paragon riders racing it was always going to be tough to stop one of them getting down the road.
Jack Edward's a young rider from San Fairy Ann made a few valiant efforts to go off the front early on but was brought back quickly.

On lap three Dulwich rider Simon Fox made a gap. All attempts to jump across were nullified by the two remaining Paragon riders policing the front of the group. Having had a chat with a Finsbury Park C.C rider we decided to wait ten minutes and then attack on the climb.

We attacked but I found myself with no one on my wheel at the top of the rise. Most importantly there was no Paragon rider sucking my wheel. I  pushed on after the leader who now had 25 seconds. With three laps to go I was on the wheel of the break-away Paragon rider...unfortunately my legs were now stinging a bit after half an hour or so of decent effort. I was beaten by a bike length in the sprint.
