Andy Hardy Memorial Road Race, Milton Keynes Bowl, 3/4 cat - Saturday 28th April

I took part in my first road race of the season, the Andy Hardy Memorial support race at Milton Keynes bowl. I had recently returned from a training camp in Italy so was feeling confident that I was fit enough to finish the race.
The speed was high from the start and as I had never raced here before it took me several laps to get used to the fast cornering required on the four bends negotiated on each lap. As such I dominated the back of the bunch.
A break of ten riders got away and two of these lapped the bunch. I was feeling good towards the end of the race but couldn’t move up and finished near the back of the bunch.
I was pleased to finish and hope to do better in the longer ERRL races this season.
