Two of our youth riders, Pierce McGrenaghan and Hugo Evans were at the Hog Hill circuit for the BC 4th cat race on Saturday. 16 year old Hugo Evans was riding his first ever race and despite the race using the full circuit coped will with the early fast pace but unfortunately on lap 9 he lost contact with the bunch out of the sharp hairpin on the bottom section of the course, he rode on in front of half a dozen or so of previously dropped riders to complete the full distance.
Meanwhile, 17 year old Pierce with more racing experience rode
intelligently to maintain a good position in the bunch throughout the
race and used his climbing ability to finish a creditable 7th place in
the sprint finish up the Hoggenberg.
