Hog Hill Winter Series – Round 2 - Saturday 13th Sep 2008

Jamie Anderson and Ian Coles both raced in the savage conditions at Hog Hill in the second round of the winter series on the 13th of December. The rain, cold and gale force winds combined to deplete the numbers riding in the all the races but this did not make the racing any easier. The track was run in the opposite direction to the previous week making for a challenging finish into a headwind.

In the 4th Cat only race Jamie was hoping to improve on his 2nd place from the previous week, but some aggressive and attacking riding from some strong other riders relegated him to a group of chasers and he came in a good but disappointed 5th.

In the 3/4 Cat race, Ian was hoping that the small amount of riders would make the racing easier but the pace was very hot right from the gun and after 15 minutes found himself in a group of 4 chasers for the remainder of the race trying to shelter from the wind in the unpleasant conditions. A last ditch attempt to drop the group on the Hoggenberg climb gave Ian 9th place. The camaraderie and atmosphere at the circuit made the racing as enjoyable as the week before and the cheers of support made the racing in the conditions much more bearable.
