Michael Higgins and Hugo Evans were amongst a field of 70 plus riders in the latest round of racing at this popular venue.
At the midway point a group of 5 got away from the bunch gaining 10 or so seconds advantage over the field, sensing that that peloton seemed disinterested in working to bring them back Hugo tried
to bridge across but after stretching out 60 riders for a lap and a
half no help was forthcoming and his efforts came to no avail. Six laps
later Hugo tried again but the same scenario played out again.
Michael rode in the main group but was unable to help due to the amount
of riders between himself and Hugo. The 5 escapees stayed away to
contest the win with our two North Roaders frustrated at how the race played out.
