A field of 75 riders greeted our 2 North Roaders Michael Higgins and Hugo Evans at this
popular venue on the former Olympic park.
Racing under floodlights for the 1st time our duo rode conservatively in the bunch, on the
half hour mark Hugo was brought down by a faller directly in front of him. Hugo was soon up
again
and re joined Michael in the peloton a lap later. With the speed
averaging 26.5mph two riders managed to clip off the front with the
bunch unable to organise the chase they stayed away until the end. The
mass sprint for 3rd went of without incident with Hugo not contesting by
way of being on restricted gears, Michael finished alongside his
teammate in the bunch both happy
with their showing in what was their 1st 3/4 cat race.
