LVRC Dunton 1 - Thurs 12th May 11

Wed 18 May 2011

Five North Roaders turned out for the first LVRC Race at Dunton: Tim Brown,Steve Sexton, Steve Taylor, Steve James & Del Evens rode in the ABCD cat event.

The night began by me giving Steve Taylor some advice,;as this was his first race the advice being just stay out of trouble and if any North Roader goes off the front just try and sit on the front of the bunch and slow it down a touch.

Steve Sexton unfortunately punctured, Del Evens gracefully crashed but rejoined to finish well, Steve James did lots of work on the front and finished strongly, Steve Taylor took SOME of my advice and stayed out of trouble.

I myself won the first prime and closed the majority of the attacks.

With a lap and a half to go three riders got away. So off I went again, with no one following, overtook the break and I was looking good for the win but unfortunately I was caught by the main bunch thirty metres from the line.
.
After the race a rider approached me and said "good ride mate, shame about your team mate who chased you down and led the bunch up to your wheel" ! I realsied that Steve Taylor only managed to digest part of the advice that I so kindly gave him earlier.

Thanks Steve Taylor, NOT !!
