LVRC Dunton 11th May 2008

A depleted team of North Roaders returned to the Ford test track at Dunton for the latest round of LVRC racing.  With survivors from the previous week John McDowall and Chris Glithero, being joined by vet racing newcomer Steve James.    

The race was again dominated by a strong headwind down one of the back straights that allowed the main bunch to quickly nullify some of the early break away attempts. 

Just before the bell for the final five laps a lone rider attacked over the banked climb and John jumped across to join him.  Both worked well together and obtained a decent gap from the main bunch staying away for three and a half laps before the effects of the strong headwind, and some energetic chasing by the main bunch bought an end to an enterprising break.   

John tried another attack with half a lap to go but was caught again as the main bunch contested the final sprint with Steve just making the places with a well deserved fifteenth place.  Both Chris and John finished in the main bunch. 

The next LVRC event at Dunton is in two weeks time on Sunday 25^th May
