LVRC Dunton Sunday 4th May 2008

Five North Roaders traveled to Dunton to compete in an LVRC hour plus 5 lap race.  With Dunton regulars John McDowall and Nick Harris joined by Chris Glithero and Jeff Robinson, the recently ‘veteranised’ Richard Somerset completed the group. 

With a larger than usual bunch the racing was familiar Dunton fare, with a strong headwind down the back straight making any break away attempts short lived affairs.  

All the North Roaders were active making moves to the front of the bunch during the race, with Richard and Jeff showing particularly strongly. 

An uphill crash on the circuit's only climb with about a lap to go held up both John and Chris, and in the final manic sprint to the line Richard came in a well deserved fourth place with Jeff battling to appear in the top ten.  Former North Road star Alan Lovegrove won the event although competing in the colours of Team Welwyn.
