The threat of rain and a strong wind didn’t stop Richard Somerset and Tim Brown from competing against a small field at the LVRC event at Dunton on Thursday 26th May.
Tim was active in the early laps, trying to establish a break, Richard was happy to sit in hoping Tim would get on with it, although he did get in a break of four for half an lap.
At half distance two riders got away and were not seen until the finish. After forty-five minutes Tim chased down a rider from Ciclos Uno, caught him and they quickly established a gap. Richard did the loyal team mate thing and went to the front a few times, soft tapping to discourage the chase. Three laps to go the bunch had settled for a sprint, Richard went a little too early but still came second from the group.
Tim’s duo were unable to catch the leading pair but Tim won his sprint (and £10), coming third and Richard sixth.
