Somerset Road Club Crits - Sat 11th April 09

Tue 14 Apr 2009

Jamie Anderson was one of 70 odd 3/4 cat riders to take to the start line of the Somerset Road Club crits on Saturday 11th April. The race was run around a 3.1 mile airfield circuit in beautiful sunshine. The bunch averaged comfortably over 25 mph and there were plenty of attempted brakes and attacks, but a combination of a strong group and a fair headwind made escapes difficult.
The race came down to a hotly contested bunch sprint involving a sizable number of the starters, so it proved very difficult to work through the bunch. Jamie finished 8th in a mass of riders that must have proved a nightmare for the organisers to disentangle. All in all, a very enjoyable race and a great experience.
