View from the Timekeeper's Chair

Coats off as this was the first time that the timekeeper was able to do his recording in shirt sleeves such was the warmth of the evening - it is noticeable that the heat soon evaporates as the sun goes down behind the trees at the finish.

Nick Candy led the way home followed by Dan Ryan, Dan perhaps feeling the effects of his long distance riding in a 100 (personal best) and a 50 (personal best and club record).

We have been fortunate since the deluge at the end of May as the events have been run in balmy conditions. Weather conditions have been such that all riders should end the series with personal bests. Three events to go until the finale on 14th August and thank you helpers, less than four months to Christmas for cold and rain! Lord Byron remarked that the English winter ends in July and recommences in August but that was before the summers of 1976 and 2018, both long after his time.
