Brickendon 2022 wk10

Last one back's a Chrissy

On a dry, breezy evening in Brickendon, the timekeeper was as relaxed and in control as ever but out on the course, confusion reigned.

Silver salver pacesetter Chris went round in 21.25, with guest ride Andy Jarratt just 2 seconds slower. John, Brian and Glyn all set very respectable mid-table times, with Ivana cementing her lead in the women's competition.

But three tail-end charlies set the race alight... Firstly, last rider off Chris caught his minute man Chris on the bottom road just as his own minute man Chris came in sight. But Chris held up a car (possibly driven by another Chris, who knows?) causing Chris and Chris to lose time until a safe overtake was possible. Chris then dropped Chris who himself dropped Chris just before the turn on to Robins Nest Hill. That was it for Chris on Chris action and the excitement was over once more... until the next thrilling instalment of possibly the greatest cycle race in the world.

Thanks as always to the timekeeper and helpers who make this thing happen!

The table so far:
