Big Events Criterium, Hog Hill

Saturday 13th August 2016.

Hugo Evans was on the start line on a bright but windy day at the Hog Hill circuit. The field had to contend with a strong headwind blowing down the Hoggenberg, facing a tough day only the strongest made any meaningful attacks with any escapees soon being brought back to the bunch by the prevailing conditions.

On the hour mark a group of six made a move away, they were encouraged by a slow response from the remaining riders, but despite leaving it very very late the race came back together on the final lap at the bottom of the Hill. Mayhem ensued as 40 riders all had a chance of winning, out of the chaos Hugo came over the line in 9th despite the messy finale.
