Peterborough Road Race, Sawtry 3/4 56Miles 07.06.2009

Fri 12 Jun 2009

Tristan Emptage took third place in a sprint for the line at the Peterborough Road race last Sunday in what can only be described as miserable conditions as the cold and relentless rain took it's toll on the race.  The race saw a number of breaks try and fail until the fourth lap when a group of ten broke away to build a 1min.30sec gap on a now depleted bunch.  With the break away safe in the knowledge that they weren't to be caught the usual cat and mouse tatics came into play and a ten man sprint decided the day.  The worthy winner on the day was Michael Smith of Team Milton Keynes and only 26 riders from a full field managing to finish.
